The regulatory requirements and general guidance for the carriage of Transmitting PEDs can be found in CAP OPS 16, Portable Electronic Devices (PED). The Gibraltar Civil Aviation Authority does not issue a Specific Approval for the carriage or use of Transmitting PEDs in aircraft, other than those associated with Electronic Flight Bags. The operator is responsible for ensuring that the use of PEDs on-board does not impact the safe operation of the aircraft (i.e. it may be used without adversely affecting the performance of the aircraft systems and equipment). General Aviation operators are deemed compliant via a declaration using Form OPS 17 that the CAP OPS 16 requirements are satisfied.
