Certain aviation organisations are required to implement a Safety Management System (SMS). An SMS provides a structured approach to identifying hazards, managing risk and continually improving safety performance.
The GCAA has published CAP GEN 01, which explains the Authority’s SMS requirements and provides guidance on developing and maintaining an effective Safety Management System.
After reading CAP GEN 01, applicants seeking an SMS approval are recommended to discuss their application with the GCAA (via info@gcaa.gi) prior to submitting Form GEN 03 (SMS application) and Form GEN 05 (SMS self assessment).
