Aircraft operated under CAR OPS 2A/H may have their continuing airworthiness management arranged through a GCAA approved Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO), at the discretion of the owner/operator.
In such cases, the approved CAMO assumes responsibility for managing continuing airworthiness and must designate an individual, approved by the Authority, to act as the Continuing Airworthiness Manager.
When an approved CAMO oversees the continuing airworthiness, the aircraft may be eligible for a CofA with a validity of up to 36 months, rather than the standard 12 or 24 months.
A formal agreement between the owner/operator and the approved CAMO is required, unless the owner/operator already has an in-house CAMO approval.
