Every aircraft operated under CAR OPS 2A or CAR OPS 2H must have a maintenance programme established by the operator before a Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A) can be issued.
As part of the initial C of A application, the owner’s or operator’s Airworthiness Coordinator must submit Form AIR 19 – Aircraft Maintenance Programme Declaration to the Gibraltar Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). The declaration confirms that the maintenance programme accurately reflects the maintenance requirements of the aircraft.
The GCAA’s policy, guidance and requirements for the development, content and management of maintenance programmes are set out in CAP AIR 04 – Maintenance Programmes (GA & RPAS).
The declared maintenance programme must be followed and kept up to date throughout the operational life of the aircraft. Any amendments requiring a revised declaration or GCAA acceptance must be submitted before they are implemented.
