The Gibraltar Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) does not issue Gibraltar flight crew or aircraft maintenance engineer licences.
Instead, the GCAA may, at its discretion, validate licences issued by ICAO Contracting States, allowing holders to exercise specified licence privileges on Gibraltar-registered aircraft.
Applicants who hold more than one foreign licence may apply for a separate validation for each licence.
A Certificate of Validation is issued to the licence holder and is not restricted to a specific operator, aircraft registration or aircraft type. Unless otherwise limited by the terms of the validation, it may be used when exercising the privileges of the underlying foreign licence on any Gibraltar-registered aircraft for which the holder is appropriately qualified.
