Timely reporting of safety occurrences enables the GCAA and the aviation industry to identify safety trends, investigate occurrences and implement measures to prevent future accidents and incidents.

Mandatory Reports

Mandatory occurrences must be reported in accordance with the applicable regulations and the guidance contained in CAP GEN 03.

Reports should be submitted using Form GEN 01 – Occurrence Report.

Voluntary Reports

The Voluntary Reporting Programme enables individuals working within the aviation industry to confidentially report safety concerns that may not be subject to mandatory reporting requirements.

Information received through the programme helps identify emerging safety issues and supports continuous safety improvement across Gibraltar’s aviation sector.

Guidance on the Voluntary Reporting Programme is provided in CAP GEN 04.

Reports should be submitted using Form GEN 01 – Occurrence Report.

Dangerous Goods Reporting

The transport of dangerous goods by air is subject to strict international requirements.

CAP OPS 09 provides GCAA policy, regulatory requirements and guidance for operators, shippers, freight forwarders and ground handling agents involved in the transport of dangerous goods.

Dangerous Goods occurrences should be reported using Form GEN 09.
